wireless access technology

WiMAX based on IEEE802.16 is a broadband wireless access technology. It is used in fixed, nomadic, portable, simple mobility and free movement, etc. In recent years, with the development of wireless access technology, WiMAX is becoming the focus of attention gradually. It has the advantage of coverage, access speed, QoS and security, etc. The deployment of WiMAX is faster than cable access, and the expansion of WiMAX is also stronger than cable access. In addition, it has anti-multipath fading capability and high spectral efficiency because of using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing. Now, WiMAX has begun to be applied in Europe, America, Japan and South Korea. In China, China Netcom and China Telecom has been tested and applied in the business field. Channel estimation and equalization is the key technology of WiMAX and It's accuracy greatly impacts on the system performance.
